TAOIST CULTIVATION

Taoist practice, in ancient times, had many names, such as cultivation, health, hygiene, words of the art of longevity, and so on. They are all different. Now generally known as “cultivation” or “health”. The meaning of “cultivation” is to cultivate one's nature and refine one's life. Sex refers to the spirit, life refers to the physical body, cultivation is through certain ways and means, the spirit and the physical body for self-control, to achieve the noble purpose of “my life by me not by heaven”.

道教修持，古代有许多名称，如修道、修真、修为、修养、养生、卫生、长生术的话等等。不一而足。现在一般称为“修炼”、“修持”或“养生”。 修持的含义，就是修性炼命。性指精神，命指肉体，修炼就是通过一定的方式和方法，对精神和肉体进行自我控制，达到“我命由我不由天”的崇高目的
